HealthPartners Class-Action Lawsuit Overview

On February 2, 2023, the Almeida Law Group and co-counsel filed a putative class action lawsuit against Group Health Plan, Inc., doing business as HealthPartners, alleging that it used tracking technology on its websites to disclose patients’ personally identifiable information (PII) and protected health information (PHI) to Meta Platforms, Inc. and other third parties in order to generate profits for HealthPartners.

Lawsuit Details and Class Action Goals

 The lawsuit, captioned Vriezen v. Group Health Plan, Inc., 23-cv-00267 and pending in federal court in Minnesota, seeks to establish a national class and a Minnesota class and recover damages that include monetary compensation.
