Federal Court Grants Final Approval of WorkIt Health Class Action Settlement

Overview
A federal court approved a $578,680 settlement in Doe v. Workit Health, Inc., resolving claims that the company’s use of tracking technologies led to unauthorized disclosures of users’ confidential health information to third parties like Meta and Google.
On March 6, 2025, Judge Linda V. Parker of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan granted final approval of a settlement resolving a class action lawsuit captioned Doe v. Workit Health, Inc., No. 2:23-cv-11691-LVP-DRG. Represented by David Almeida and Britany Kabakov and co-counsel Nick Coulson, plaintiffs alleged that Workit Health implemented tracking technologies on its website potentially leading to unauthorized disclosures of users’ confidential health information to third parties such as Meta and Google.
Following a final approval hearing on February 6, 2025, Judge Parker found the $578,680 non-reversionary common fund settlement to be fair, reasonable, and adequate. This settlement provides relief to affected individuals and highlights the importance of transparency and accountability in securing patient data in the digital age.
