Almeida Law Group is pleased to announce that on June 4, 2025, the Honorable Jesus G. Bernal, United States District Court Judge for the Central District of California, granted preliminary approval of a class action settlement in B.K. v. Eisenhower Medical Center, Case No. EDCV 23-2092 JGB (DTBx). 

The settlement, which—if approved—will resolve claims that Eisenhower Medical installed tracking technologies on its web properties to disclose confidential and sensitive health information to third parties such as Meta and Google, provides for a non-reversionary settlement fund of $875,000. The Court conditionally certified a settlement class consisting of all individuals who logged into the EMC MyChart patient portal and/or submitted an online form and/or scheduled a laboratory appointment on Eisenhower Medical Center’s public website between January 1, 2019, to May 3, 2023. 

In granting preliminary approval, Judge Bernal appointed Almeida Law Group, LLC and Clarkson Law Firm, P.C. to serve as counsel on behalf of the settlement class for purposes of settlement only. The final approval hearing is scheduled for Monday, October 20, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. in Courtroom 1 of the United States District Court for the Central District of California, Eastern Division, located at 3470 12th Street in Riverside, California 92501.
