Piedmont Healthcare Accused of Sharing Patient Data Without Consent

Piedmont Healthcare Inc., Georgia’s largest health care provider, is facing a class-action lawsuit over its use of the Meta Pixel online tracking tool, which allegedly shared patients’ personal information with Meta Platforms.

The lawsuit, filed by Almeida Law Group and co-counsel , alleges that Piedmont installed the Meta Pixel on its website and patient portal without patient consent, collecting and sharing personal and health information.

This alleged data sharing is said to have violated Piedmont’s privacy policies and healthcare standards, including HIPAA.
