Britany Kabakov Almeida Law Group

EDUCATION

Britany graduated from Loyola University Chicago with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Secondary Education, magna cum laude. She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Chicago Law School, where she worked in the Environmental Law Clinic, representing conservation groups in Clean Water Act litigation.

Britany Kabakov

Britany Kabakov is an Associate Attorney at the Almeida Law Group. 

Britany is an accomplished trial lawyer and litigator. As with most attorneys at the Firm, Britany gained invaluable experience working as a defense attorney as she started her career working as a litigation associate at Kirkland & Ellis LLP in its Chicago Office. While at Kirkland, Britany participated in two federal bellwether jury trials in the largest multidistrict litigation in U.S. history.    

Britany had the honor of clerking for Magistrate Judge Sunil R. Harjani in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and externing for Judge Andrew G. Schopler in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California. Through her experiences, Britany learned about the inner workings of all aspects of federal litigation, from the filing of a complaint to through trial and post-trial motions. 

Britany’s practice focuses on consumer class action lawsuits, with an emphasis on privacy and false labeling cases, as well as complex commercial disputes. She has represented clients in federal court, multidistrict litigation and class action lawsuits involving defective products, consumer fraud, toxic tort and environmental cases, information privacy, insurance and contract disputes.

Britany is committed to public service and representing all people. She has maintained an active pro bono practice focusing on civil rights and supporting civil liberty organizations in their research and litigation efforts. During law school, she volunteered at the Legal Aid Society of San Diego’s Domestic Violence Clinic. Before attending law school, she taught middle school social studies in Phoenix, Arizona.   

Britany is admitted to the Illinois State Bar, as well as the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
